Due to various external factors the VZW 24u.be was unable to gather sufficient means with which to offer a solid, fully-fledged coverage of the 24 Hours of Zolder. Even with all efforts put in by our partners, including Circuit Zolder, we are most unfortunately obliged to throw in the towel for this 2010 edition. As the result of long drawn out negotiations with the promoter regarding an eventual joint venture format no additional external partners could be found which might have given us the resources and capacity to bring this project to what it fully deserves.
The main objective of 24u.be had always been to provide you a full, comprehensive and live report of the event. Our aim is to retain this principle and not to fall back on the classic press releases. Unfortunately the live reporting concept does not appear to be of a high priority with the promoter. As a result we could do nothing else but cancel the project for this year.
The VZW 24u.be Board is highly disappointed with the promoter's decision. Over the years the impact and radiation the 24u.be gave to the competitors and general public had grown enormously resulting in a unique form of synergy. However the disappearance of 24u.be for this edition in no way represents an end for this project. We are presently working on a 2011 edition, whereby we will carry on under our own steam with the on-going support of Circuit Zolder, our own partners and, from our point of view, also the eventual support of the promoter. In the past the 24u.be concept has enjoyed a great success. As such it is our intention to be back in action in 2011 with our extensive live-coverage reporting as also our unique team pages.
We take this opportunity to wish all competitors and visitors an enjoyable and thrilling 24 Hours of Zolder this year. No doubt you will be able to follow, in a rather reduced and limited manner, the race via other channels. Notwithstanding all that VZW 24u.be will be providing a classic report of the event via the www.Racingworld.be website.
As for us we look forward to offering a new and fully-fledged edition of the 24u.be in 2011!
